Is it national speed camera day??? :(
Drove from Lincoln to Bournemouth today and the *******s were everywhere! 2 van beasts in oxford and a couple of new fixed camera's, then a "camera in the bushes" in Bouremouth.
If I made it through with no fine then im going to pray more often
Its got to the point where you cant speed anywhere!
Hacked off and going to buy a jammer.

You mean:
"Its got to the point where you look at your speedo every few seconds to make sure you don't drift over the limit"
Have you ever noticed when you're driving through an area you don't know well, you see a camera, and suddenly think "****, whats the speed limit here?!!", and conveniently there are no speed signs to be seen, so you slow down to 30 and the person following nearly rear-ends you!
I think that the speed limit should be displayed on each fixed speed camera as a reminder of what the limits are!
Oh, errmmm..... maybe not, that would be too obvious, and no-one would be caught speeding! right!?

Exactly what happened today, I took a wrong turn in Oxford and can only hope the dual carriageway I was on was a 60 plus limit. Didnt know the road etc...
Was doing quite a speed when I saw the van but he was a long way off and there were a few cars in front of me for him to target. If he picked me off at the top of the hill it might get interesting... I could see the smug ****wit through the flap in the back door as I went past. Eye contact was made....

DBM If it was a dual carriageway and there were no signs to the contrary then the speed limit was 60, so don't panic. :-) If the speed limit isn't clearly posted -and is set lower than the type of road would normally warrant- I woud have thought you'd have good cause to contest a ticket.
Best.
Best.

old biker trick
You used to be able to say they made a mistake when making the plates, but to get a plate now you need all sorts of documentation. Its fine if you get camera'd, but if they stop you for a chat you might be in a fair bit of strife. Ok on a bike as you can escape

And its very easy to make a small error when ordering a number plate, say you say "S" and the plate maker hears "F"......
Theres plenty of cars on the road with wrong number plates from main dealers...Tut tut......
You can still, easily, get plates without documentation...and I dont just mean by dodgy means..My brother ordered a plate 2 weeks ago, mail order, from an ad in the back of a well known mag, no questions asked..
Or you could order a "showplate", may only be slightly ilegal in size(but enough to appear to be an illegal size, still keeping the standard letter height etc).No documentation required for showplates........
And as a last resort, your friendly bike shop will sell you some perspex..

I went to Oxford today and noticed a revenue van parked right at the start of some roadworks on the M4 where its a 50-limit, I slammed on the brakes causing the car behind to skid, but hopefully slowed in time.
Hope there werent any vans on the A34 between Oxford and the M4! Saying that I dont think I really topped 80 as it was busy.
