Slighty worried that he dont look 100% stable on his back legs, he is only 8 weeks old and going to the vets tonight to ask! Any ideas why? Wont he be too young too show hip displacement?

Hip displacement could be an issue but also could be something like a spinal problem if its his hind quarters that are having issues. Get him checked out asap. Not having a dig or anything but didn't you notice his problem when you looked at him at the time of buying? Did you get him from a breeder? If so should be the breeder who sorts out the issue before you buy the pup. Hope its nothing serious and gets sorted ok and quickly.

We use Tesco or Direct for our 9 month old lab. Its about £9.50 per month but its worth it. Labs are quite expensive if they need treatment.

Finally, someone on here buys a nice dog!!! I thought this place was turning into a glorified eBay for Chav dogs courtesy of www.chavscum.co.uk

Quote from Chavscum website:
Having a ferocious dog as a domestic pet is at heart of many Chavs home! They provide companionship and act as a very good home security system!
Chav dog + Scooby = Full blown CHAV!!!
I hope it is a Labrador, they are nice.

A retriever will retrieve therefore when you are drowning they will retrieve things to you like a lump of wood or a squeaky toy all of which will be just what you want then as they are so clever they will want a cuddle achieved by climbing on you and watching you disappear under the water
Not that i have to much experence of this

I too am relieved to see that someone on SN has a slightly less viscious breed of dog
All these boxers/rotties/etc are all VERY VERY chav! Nice gun dog like a labrador is much nicer.

Great to hear of you're new arrival, we got a Rotti pup about 10 week ago, and boy do they show you how much spare time you "had" on your hands. You asked about getting the Lab insured, we went with PetPlan, as they cover the dog for it's life, and not like Tesco etc who only cover for 12 months from the illness/accident, admittedly, it's a bit more, was an extra £6 a month for a Rotti, but it's best to have peace of mind. Another thing you might look into getting is a book called "The Dog Whisperer", it lets you know how the pup/dog thinks and acts etc, and has proved invaluable in training and bringing up the pup. We bought it 2 weeks after we brought the pup home and it transformed the dog over night!!
Anyway, enjoy it whilst it's small, as they grow very quickly, ours is only 4 months and it weighs 2.5 stone!!
