Default Anybody seen Battle Royale II yet?

Saw this was out in my local vid shop and wondered if anyone has seen it yet and is it as good as the first?

BR1 was quality (class of kids, different weapons, 72 hours to be the last one standing for those that haven't seen the first)

Might rent it anyway and see for myself. Wanted it last night but couldn't be RS'd to read the subs!

First one is class - reviews say 2nd one is a bit of a turkey but i don't listen to critics anyway. Will be watching it in due course.

Watched a few japanese film's recently -

Ichi the Killer
Visitor Q
Audition
Dead and Alive (tonight's viewing)

Anything directed by Takashi Miike is generally f**k'd up!

Its well worth watching but see the directors cut. I gives more of the back story for the characters and you understand why they are like they are. It also explains why Takeshi pops up in the jungle which on the original I just found confusing.

Trying to get hold of BR2 at the moment, the reviews I read were promising.

Watched BR2 last night. Load of cr4p! Has completely missed the point of the first movie and ends up being a cross between Saving Private Ryan and Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid.

Avoid at all costs if you like the original.

Really enjoyed it - although I watched the comparitively 'sanitised' Uk version- not the uncut Jap version.

Had to have the ending explained to me as that completely lost me but overall a top movie with more comic-book violence than you could wish for!

[I was gutted with how weak BR2 was. SOme very good flms out there. Audition was superb and horrific in places. I think you who which bit I mean. Ooch.

Have you seen Dark Water, thats pretty good too. Ichi was good too. Have you seen Lady Snowblood ? Tartan Extreme must be building up a quite impressive catalogue

Lady Snowblood - read that Kill Bill is a blatant rip off of this - true?

Tartan Extreme certainly have some cool movies in their collection now. Haven't seen or heard of Dark Water but have only recently been introduced to these movies.

Any further recommendations?

Haven't seen the animated version so can't comment. Sounds like you're building up quite a collection!
