Default Advise needed. Anybody in Gas engineering

Hello

Basically I am sick of my current job and want a career change.
Iv'e had my name down on a Gas course for an NVQ level 2 in domestic natural gas installation and maintenance. There was qiute a long waiting list and now my start date has been given. The course has changed slightly as below

YEAR 1 - I will gain the nvq eqivalent of CCN1 and MET!

YEAR 2 - " " " " " " " CEN1, WAT1, CKR1 HTR1 and
DAH1

YEAR 3 - I will work towards NVQ level 3 in domestic gas installation and maintenance

I am hoping after the first year i could gain employment with day release or would in take two years or the full 3 - Basically what is the normal qualifications required before I can be with a chance of employment ? will this course be recognised ?

Please help me as I have some serious decisions to think about

cheers in advance for replies

steve

What you need is to be CORGI or ACOPS registered to work on domestic gas equipment.

I can second that..they give you all the training you need and put you through all the tests to get your Corgi card, you also get a van, all your tools.
