Default Caution - new WORCESTERSHIRE Unmarked cars

Seen today:

Skoda Octavia RS in Silver on a "54" plate driving through Sidbury in the City

Front and rear facing cameras and hidden blues, 3 aerials on top at the rear

Sneaky

Also 03 plated Silver Omega estate on the M5 between J6 and 7

Unfortunately the Skoda sped off before I could get a pic with my cam phone - they didnt look best pleased as i was lining up the shot

Nice try...

PS - Ever tried driving along with a video camera facing out of the rear 'screen? Makes people nervous.

Surprised they didn't pull you for using a phone whilst driving (assuming u were the driver that is]

Trouble with the Police nowadays is they make all these new laws up but then can't be ar$ed to enforce, unless it suits em

V*02 AMU and VU03 **T i think are usually in Kiddy. Have seen a graphite grey one in Worcs town centre matching neither plate..

Look for the cameras + aerials. Always glance over your shoulder when passing this type of vehicle to check if occupants have white shirts + badges

Last edited by SiDHEaD; 07 September 2004 at 01:54 PM. Reason: Edit to remove registration plate as traffic cars can be used in other operations.

thats how i got caught! i raced an unmarked vectra from kiddy to bromsgrove i had only just bought my spec c a day !

i think he liked the challenge as when we hit bromsgrove he was all over my car with delight and then booked me! could had been a lot worse though. got away with 3 points phew , we were hitting over a tonne in a few spots

Same thing in the Nottingham area, seen 3 in the last week - all pulling motorists. If they're going to used unmarked cars to police traffic I think there should be some form of public education programme as to what they can and can't do - a lot of people can be intimidated by unmarked cars following them, put their foot down in panic and ......... you're nicked son !!

Not doing themselves any favours are they??

They'll be watching us by satellite next

Not long ago I overtook an unmarked Volvo on the dual carriageway towards Blakedown (at 70mph, I'd spotted them long before)

In the two or three miles before Blakedown they tailgated me, overtook me, slowed to 40 so I had to go past again, tailgate me some more, drew level, drop back, and accelerate hard back onto my tail again.

I have a letter off the Police warning me that my car is at risk, and to be careful not to followed home, and they act like that? If it had been dark and I couldn't see who was doing it, they would have needed the helicopters

If it happens again, I'm getting the girlfriend to phone 999 (in tears, of course) claiming we're being followed by some aggressive, dangerous driving hooligans in a black Volvo, registration number......

Yeah sounds like it. Good job i glanced over and spotted the copper on board, he flew out into my lane ready to time me. Luckily i pulled back in and let off. He tailed me for miles after tho hehe.

ive had an argument with a copper before about this.

I thought i was being followed ( as in going to be carjacked, followed home etc) so i put my foot down to lose him

When the blues came on he didnt like my explanation- i refused to give him my licence and threatened to make an official complaint about what i saw as intimindation- i also threatened to go to the press.
He let me go after some banter on his mine and my passengers part

Thankfully this was not in my home town

Any evidence presented by a rearward facing camera would be inadmissible in court!!

they would have to seek your permission to use it if your face was anywhere in the shot,

it contravenes the data protection act,

TO WHICH the police must follow to the letter of the law!!!

even better have a couple of neighbours kids in the car... you have to ask permission of everyone there if you can take photo,s of kids!!

if not cite hulls cheif constable to explain why he could not release evidence!!

"a lot of people can be intimidated by unmarked cars following them, put their foot down in panic and"

hmmmm...really?

how would "putting your foot down" help if you were being followed? if you really felt you were in danger you would drive to somewwhere safe not speed up and increase your risks as you try to out run a pursuer. its just an excuse used by people who get in a race then cry car jacker!

hence the word 'panic' you make harsh decisions. why do you think i went to a pub car park was it because there were plenty of wittnesses.

so you would wish this kind of following/tailgating to happen to your wife/girlfriend/mom late at night while they are driving alone???
