Default New carpet. New underlay?

Would you fit new underlay when having a new carpet fitted. Existing is about 5 years old and a good underlay,so I think it'll be OK but Mrs Chip as usual thinks otherwise.

Chip.

New stuff should add bit more "bounce" to the carpet if the older stuff is a bit compressed I suppose. You probably have to go with the flow I bet

Just a thought .....what about changing the underlay on the places that gets used more

I'm sure with even good underlay ....You will definitely notice the diffence with new underlay more bouncy under foot

It is worth it for sure.
Buy it online there are better/ cheaper options than buying locally.
