Default Law regarding withdrawing of item from sale

Any legal experts out there who can help with this?

I recently purchased an out of print second hand book from third party seller via Amazon. I paid the seller imemdiately via Amazon and they wrote to me within one day to inform me the order had been receievd and would be sent within 7 days.

That was several weeks ago. I have still not received the book and they today wrote to me to confirm that my request to cancel had been processed, but would take 72 hours to refund. Only one problem with that - I didn't request a cancellation.

I wrote back and told them they were mistaken and that they should fulfil the order - I now get another email saying the item was listed in error.

I checked Amazon and they said all sales including those via third parties are governed by UK law. Can anyone tell me where I stand on this - can I demand they sell me the book regardless of them litsing it in error?

Worth a try even if just to annoy them after them having my money for several weeks.

Thanks in advance,

tiggers.
