It adds a pleasant harmonic distortion to the music which some people prefer, can make it sound very nice indeed depending on the design.
I must confess that there are a few design problems that occur to me when it comes to putting valves in car stereo systems. On the other hand early car systems were all valve based, I have a friend who had an MG with a valve based audio system in it, so I suppose there is still someone out there with experience in that area.

I must say I love the design of this, no stupid displays with dolphins etc. The VU meters look nice & hasn't got hundreds of useless buttons & more importantly a volume DIAL.
Only downsides is that it would look KAK in most modern plastic interiors & the mute button should be the other side of the cd slot so you dont have to hunt for it lol
