Question Financing car purchases.

I'm pretty conservative financially unless I see something where the risk is worth doing.

Anyway cars are a fantastic loss as you are all aware but I've love'em which is why I make the exceptions.

Still, I don't go overboard on it, so my current Scoob was financed with a loan plus some savings. Usually that keeps me out of WR or Type 25 territory.

I am curious to see what other folks here are doing to finance their pride and joy. Some have referred to leasing schemes and I've looked at them myself. I'm on a car allowance so they look tempting.

Advice?

Default

The only time I bought a brand new car was when it was through the Company. It was an STi7 and the depreciation loss (read tax loss!) was horrendous.

I am now firmly with the school of thought that says "if you can't afford to buy it (for cash) then don't buy it". At the moment that means i am driving a 7 year old Peugeot 406, but that's life.
