Question Can someone help my buy some old Transistors

Hi,

I have been trying everywhere for some transistors for a radio station our office runs overseas. I have been given the following details:

2SA1493 (89Y)

They are from an old amplifier and I have been informed that the parts have been replaced with either 2SA 1169 or 2SA1333, but i still cannot get hold of them.

I have tried Maplin, RS components and a few others. Any help most appreciated.

Regards

Alan

I've been through all this when my old Hi-fi blew one of it's Power transistors.

PITA to say the least.

Your best bet is to find the ratings and values of the old transistors - in terms of Gain (hFE) Emitter/base/collector voltages/currents, power rating, pnp/npn etc.

And then look through the current data sheets at maplin or RS etc and selecting the closest matching transistor that's on the shelf.

Have you tried ebay? There is often a wide and varied range of strange electronic bits and bobs on there. You might just get lucky.
