Default provisional licence

If i wanna get a provisional bike licence, bearing in mind i already have a full car licence, whats the procedure?

Do i just fill out a form and they will send me a provisional or do i send off my car licence and have the bike bit added to it??

Unless things have changed recently, your full car licence *is* a provisional bike licence. You don't need to do anything with the licence, but will need to pass the CBT before you can take a bike with L plates on the road.

Errrr - check your licence - you need to have Group A provisional on it. If it isn't on your licence you need to get it put on.

Just checked mine - not got it on mine either, but did have it put on at 17 when I had car provisional. IIRC back then, you had so long (3 years I think) to pass your bike test or the provisional was revoked and you couldn't reapply for 12 months after. It has probably all changed since then

Before you think about training make sure you have a valid licence. With a full car licence you can learn on bikes up to 125cc. Otherwise you will need to apply to DVLA for provisional motorcycle entitlement to be added. A provisional bike licence is valid until 70 years of age (if supported by a C.B.T certificate). Also make sure that your licence has your current address on it.

Looks like it has changed since my day
