Default SCUBA in Corsica - advice needed!

Hi all,
I'm off to Corsica again for a week in early September and I'm hoping to persuade my parents (mid-fifties) to try an exploratory dive.
We're staying in Calvi - does anyone have any specific experiences with the dive shops in the area?
cheers
Ian

Being as only about 1% of Corsican tourism is from the UK, and this being SN, i'd say your chances are nil.

Ian spent two weeks their couple of years ago (in Calvi) didnt do any diving but noticed there are several dive centres just as you come onto the main beach (on the harbour side and by the Tourist Info building- as with most things there thay looked fairly expensive, and if you have been before you will know being able to speak French is pretty much essential- if you are OK with written French contact the Tourist Board- sure they will have rates etc for you.

Cheers

Rich

On second thoughts I should have kept quiet - don't want too many Brits spoiling the place
Really is a stunning place and I managed OK last time with my long forgotten GCSE French - bit of perserverence usually got the locals on side!

Not sure about Calvi - but in Porto Vechio there were dive centres on most of the main beaches. The quality of equipment and english were varied, check them out b4 u dive ! I had some excellent dives last year though.

Just came back from Corsica on Sunday - brilliant place. Didn't do any diving (not trained but would love to take a course) but did a lot of snorkelling which was absolutely fantastic. Visited Calvi and it's so touristic in the centre of town you should be able to get by using franglais
