Thinking about replacing my Sony STR-DB940 Amp as it's a bit bulky and quite fancy upgrading to 6.1 audio (I've seen some decent Yamaha speakers)

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced 6.1 Amp thats slim(ish) with a decent power output?

cant help u with a recommendation, but i suggest u ask on here:

http://www.avforums.com

thats a really good forum for that kinda stuff.

u probably also want to post your budget if you're looking for a specific recommendation. my take is that what someone likes the sound of, someone else might not - so u really need to go to some av stores and try some out rather than taking what someone with a different set of ears suggests... and then buy off the net for cheaper of course

Personally I pop into Richer Sounds and ask them for help - face to face advice is always good.

(oh, and I have a paradigm pdr-10 sub for sale if you want some thumping bass!)

If you get something you really like the sound of, let me know. I've got the same amp (and a PDR10), and really like it.

for those that are wondering.. a pdr-10 is a black ash wooden cube, 1' to a side that, when turned up can make a house move / wobble / crumble.

Fooking awesome sub.
