got an FG one of these, not quite as good as the piccie though...

I sold off nitro my cars in favour of the FG, you just fill, pull & go nitros smell nice but are tooo much fooking about if you can't spare the time, I need to add some trick bits, however if the right evo came my way I might be tempted.

Theres another manufacturer now that does 4wd 1:5th scale, can't remember the name though, from memory they looked the bollocks.

loads of FG bits on ebay

go for it, if you have somewhere to razz it, they are a mint laugh

Yes i have seen lots of FG Marder buggies on Ebay, but one prob, i have not got enough money yet to buy on...looks like ill have to buy one from new.

I have found this site MODELSPORT and at the mo they have a deal on the Marder @ £495 instead of £595...now thats a bargin.

I aint new to the world of R/C oh no...

I have had a all 1:10 scale: Tamyia (sp?) 4wd Michelin Poilt Cossie... what a great car, then i got a Schumacher car...a pro indoor rc car that i never run as it cost over £300 quid, so i sold it as lost a little of my money and then brought a Kyosho Nitro Tracker 2wd monster truck (gas/pertol powered) which i have had and still have lots of fun with it, except it is very tempremental Glow engine, the i brought another Kyosho Porche GT2 nitro car that i could not get on with, so i sold it and got me money back, i then brought a Tamiya Impreza WRC battery opperated rc car that is fun, then i brought a tamiya Mini mk1 great fun the little car was. And now my final rc car is a modifyed HPI RS4 Focus battety opperated rally car. i have brought Graphite chassis and top chassis, front and rear suspension mounts thingys, up grated suspension dampers, anti roll cars. But the only thing that i find with battery opperated cars is that u can only pay with em for about half an hour before u have to change the battery is ur lucky, so i think FG marder biggie is ideal for me as i love r/c cars and the smell, but glow engines are so tempremental witch is so frusttrating (sp?).

And another thing nitro cars are so slow...I love speed so an FG marder buggy is i think just rite for me, but of course ill have to modify it with a tuned exhaust pipe and a K & N air filter and so it willl stop some disc brakes...he he he

ok,thanks for clearing that up , if you want 500 quids worth of "fast" then look for a decent used proceed, it will make a standard FG look like its running on diesel.

Well if u said HPi Proceed then i would of known what u were on about. yea i know they are v.fast, but are rather small.

plus there is no r/c track near me only really off road areas to use.

Yea maybe, i had a schumacher R/C electric pro race car, which i wasted £300+ on, and don't really want to go down the raod again. Schumacher's are for the real Pro R/C racer

sorry mate, pro-racers spend £300 + on an engine alone, your pro racer will be into £1000++++ for the car whatever scale they race. Generally, the bigger the car the bigger the budget required to compete.

...if you want off road and speed then get an XTR3E, get a Marder by all means, but don't expect to be blown away by the speed. The FG's are good, very easy to maintain, doddle to start, mega crowd pleaser, but no "out of the box FG" will ever compete in terms of speed with the equivalent spent on nitro. Tuned pipes, fiilters and big bore kits will help, but not enough to catch a good nitro.
