Was there something going on yesterday?
Yesterday, while driving on the M1 south towards Hemel, I noticed a few varieties of Max Powernalia.
The strange thing is, they had large white letters/numbers painted on their back windows. I was hoping that this may have been numbers from a scrap yard, but apparently not as I saw a fair amount.
Anyone know what was going on? Also saw a couple on the A5 when I was returning. Was between 6-7pm.
Cheers
Clare
P.s. if it was some sort of car modification show, since when has putting a big exhaust and some big alloys on a Megane Coupe seen as cool?

My bog standard Cup could have them for breakfast, but that's what it was designed for I guess.......

Yeah saw them too, the white numbers mean sum sort of RWYB maybe at Santa Pod?
Whats the difference between someone changing the wheels/spoiler on a megane to doing it to a scoob????

I dont know why people get so snobby about modding cars, you either buy bog std cars, or you buy performance cars and add bits to them. Doesnt matter whether its a Megane or a Skyline.
As for the "buy a better car" statement, a Megane maybe all they can afford. My 14 year old 205 would match your Cup Claire (well it would if it worked anyway)
I dont like the Max Power cars much these days, but I still have a look as I appreciate the work and imagaination that go into some of them. I love cars, so it doesnt matter what they are, even Nova's sometimes shock horror

(It's C L A (no "i") R E)
It's a growing epidemic.... Do kids nowadays not aim to own a stylish Ferrari, Porsche or Lambo - No! They want a £500 Nova/Corsa with tail fins, painted flames and lexus rear lights!
OK, so some are works of art, but isn't it true that less is more?

there were some novas at usc this weekend that would swallow up allot of the scoobs on this board.
And they are cheaper to buy...so who care if they wanna stick flames on them..
NB. i don't own one and hopefully never will, however i was shocked to see some of their quarter mile times

I would disagree Clare IMHO most Max Power readers would rather a £100k Skyline etc rather than a £100k Lamborghini etc.
I love Ferraris etc (one day I WILL own a Lamborghini Countach) but I also love some of the 'Max Power' type cars-some are horrible but then I think that about some Ferraris.

Live and let live, leave them too it BUT if it looks crap, people will laugh at you. There is such a thing as taste.

Obviously not, see the near 30 pages of clio bashing recently in general And even then there was video evidence!!
Anyway, this is not a dig at Scoobs and not a scoob Vs. clio contest. I agree with Dracoro.

There is a difference between discussion and being rude.
There is nothing wromg with anyone spending money modifying their car as long as they accept that those modifications may not enhance its value, and indeed may reduce its value, and that they notify their insurance company.
They also need to accept that others may not regard the modifications with the same delight that they do. There is nothing wrong with believing that those who modify cars are idiots, as it takes all sorts.
The amazing thing is how much money people are prepared to spend on these modifications, when if they put the money in a pot they could buy a far better car in a year or two, when insurance premiums would be lower.
I suppose the point is that some of this type of people drive like idiots, and now Imprezas are so cheap (comparitively) they aspire to them, and soon will affect our insurance premiums!

You MUST do it and you'll wonder why you never did it before.
Perhaps some of those Max Power boys should go to a proper track day, (you know, one with corners where driver skill is required )....... They may aspire to something less "visual" then.....
