There is a mixture Marc. Some cars have very low mileages although vehicles from the north of the country tend to have mileages similar to ours. Unfortunately, due to the existance of genuinely low mileage vehicles, there is a lot of 'haircutting' going on too. This isnt usually done by the Japanese, therefore the auction sheet will report the vehicles genuine mileage. You chould bear in mind that the majority or 'import specialists' dont have an "agent in Japan" as they state; they buy their stock from the ****e at the dock auctions. If you ever get chance to attend one of these you will notice that not only is there not an auction sheet in sight (odometer reading; auction grade); but all of the oil change stickers and cam belt stickers have been removed from the car. Draw your own conclucions. Japanese cars almost always do not have a service book btw; all servicing is done by dealerships and they are computerised; the service book is seldom completed.
