Question weddings... first dance..?

I was wondering what all you married SNetters chose as your first dance on your wedding day.
Does the song still mean the same to you now?
did you have a choice between a few, and opted for the wrong choice?

I ask because yesterday on the journey home; I heard our wedding song and all the happiness came flooding back to me. It was quite moving.

Sade - no ordinary love.

( I was tempted to chose Hazel O'Connor's Breaking glass but was over-ruled by mrs. Peanuts).

As if I didn'y have enough things to think about for our impending nuptuals!

My choice is Robert Palmer's "She Makes My Day" although the Mrs is wanting Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings"

my choices are:

The Faces - you can make me dance, sing or anything (even take the dog for a walk, mend a fuse, fold away the ironing board, or any other domestic short comings)

Gerry Rafferty - right down the line

haven't run them by the missus yet, though.

I went to one last year, and they both came out to the theme from the Hair Bear Bunch. Was hilarious.

We chose Shania Twain - From this moment on, but the band playing decided in there wisdom, it would be easier for them to sing Robbie Williams - Angels instead of putting the cd in the cd player!

Pissed off, yes. We spent our 1st dance asking "did you ask for this?" "No, did you"

Oh well, we now have 2 first dance songs

That Faces song is a good choice! Don't think "Ooh La La" by the same band would go down as well (you'll know why if you know the lyrics )

On a Rod Stewart theme, we had "Have I Told You Lately".. although it was the Van Morrisson version..

Some Friends of ours had a jazz band playing live and they learned a dance routine beforehand for "It Had to Be You".. Sounds cheesy but it was great.

Got married in June and our first dance was to "How Deep is Your Love" by the Bee Gees.

<nasal voice mode ON>

And when you rise in the morning sun, i feel you touch me in the pouring rain and the moment that you wander far from me I want to feel you in my arms again ............................................. etc.

<nasal voice mode OFF>

Love the song, loved the dance, loved the Wedding and love my wife. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

got married in a registry office and headed for the airport! We were chosing our rings (few hrs late ) in Tiffanys 5th Ave about the time we would have been seeing off all the freeloading guests if we had had a "do"

best idea ever! (the HUGE black scary man that took us from JFK to the Waldorf Astoria had a song on about Ni**ers wacking cops and raping hoes so maybe that counts?
