Male pressie help needed...............please!!!!!!
Hi,
I really need some help on what to get one of my mates.
I am normally fine at buying pressies, but am stumped on this one!
One of the guys i lived with last year at uni is going to america for a year and i want to get him something to take with him.
He's not really into cars or football, and i kinda wanted to get him something he could use while out there.
Any ideas would be a mahusive help!!!!
Oh, and my budget isnt too big either.

England / Scotland / Wales * Football Shirt? Doesn't matter that he's not a football fan does it?
* Delete where applicable.
If you want him to remember you while he's over there, how about giving him a pair of knickers? We all now how comfortable they are - no chaffing...

Well, apart from trawling www.iwantoneofthose.com, how about making him a small pack of the British things he might miss while he's out there? Tea Bags/ Marmite/ Branston pickle etc. Can make a parcel to suit your budget!
Then if the misses them even more during his time away there's always:

Hello
A big pack of condoms, and possibly the book from here http://nomarriage.com to warn him about those American women.
Steve.

Hmmmm, not too sure that the knickers thing would go down too well with his GF who he is going out there with! Think she might get a bit
And its not really the kind of thing i want him to think of me by!!!!!!
The poster sounds like a cool idea though.

A bullet-proof vest. (I've been to a few places in America where one of these would have made me feel a bit safer!)
Is he travelling around the country or going there to work?

Travel guides are very handy! I found local/state 'what to do, where to go, what to see' guides invaluable, along with a road atlas of America (can be bought in Waterstones et. al.) - very good for travelling about, finding one's bearings.

thanks for all your help guys.
you've suggested things that i would never have thought of.
will pop out soon, on an extended lunch break (boss is out so who will know?!? ) and will have a peek at what's about.
Am liking the idea of pics, fave food, and travel guide

Get him 15 Quarterpounders - 5 litres of cola - 1kg of Ice Cream - 10 x 200g of chocolate - 20 bags of McDonalds Chips
Tell him that he needs to eat all of that in one day, then everyday until he flies out
That way he won't stand out as a tourist!!
