You were offered 13+1/2weeks off work full pay?? In theory it sounds great, but once you've had about a week off, you start to go a bit nuts
So would you take it? And if so, what would you do in all that time??

I actually found myself in this situation... I was off sick for just that length of time...
and yeah, the initial euphoria of being off and being paid for it is great - but then the boredom sets in and by the end of it you are pretty much ready to go back to work for some stimulation!
I did manage to get an awful lot done while I was off tho'!

take the time off and use the 13 weeks, set yourself a goal to achieve and work towards it. Maybe look towards an OU course if it is in the right time of year, or an evening class in something that interests you.
or if you really want to, take the time off and get yourself a short term temping job, full normal pay + part time pay, then you can either put the money towards the baby or go nuts at the end of the 13 weeks and spend it all

LOL
I know where you are coming from, I had 6 months of redundant and got bored after 2 weeks and worried constantly about getting a new job. However if I had known I would have had a job to go to after 6 months I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more. It is difficult to find things to do, studying is one of the biggest time killers. But then so is xbox
