That must have been one heck of a storm!
Got back to my apartment in Germany after a weekend back in the UK and decided to watch the WRC I recorded on Sunday afternoon only to get an hour of blank screen.
Flicked over to the satellite channel to get the same blank screen. Power off and back on and I get the "No Satellite Signal Is Being Received" message
Looked over to the window where there should have been a large satellite dish looming in the darkness but can't see anything!
Went onto the balcony where I was expecting this view....
And was rather surprised with this view instead
And yes, thats a concrete slab weighing it down!
After spending half an hour trying to re-align the dish to no avail, I checked the cabling as saw this...
Apparently there were winds upto 150KMH on Saturday night, there are trees down everywhere. At a local beer-fest on the shore of lake Constance many of the smaller tents were blown away, people were blown off the promenade into the lake and one woman was killed while holding a metal tent pole as the tent was struck by lightening

The weathers been cr@p over here so far this summer, so I wouldn't be surprised if its bad on the rally too Fingers crossed though, I don't fancy braving a storm like that in my tent!

No! The chair had moved slightly, but both are sheltered by the balcony wall! The dish is above the wall, so got the full force of the wind. You'll also notice a mountain bike wheel on the left which also stayed put!
