Hotel recommendation in Newcastle?
I'm looking for a hotel as I have to go up there for work.
I'm after something close to the main train station/Quayside/City Centre, as we are going out drinking after!!!
I've tried the Travelodge, Travel Inn and the Premier Lodge, and they are fully booked.
Anywhere else I should try, with a budget of up to £90-100.
Cheers
Andy

Andy, try the Copthorne on the quayside:

fax: +44 (0)191 230 1111
reservation: +44 (0)191 2220333
might be a bit on the pricey side though

We stayed up there recently in Jesmond - nice little place and close enough to town - lots of bars there to begin your night out, then about 15 min walk to town, or 5 mins on the Metro.
We stayed here:
New Kent Hotel
127 Osborne Road
0191 281 7711
Decent enough, a Best Western thing I think. About £79 a night

Jesmond is MORE than good enough for your needs, has a lot of the trendy bars (Osbourne Road) frequented by the scantily clad and footballers. There are a few but try and get one near to Osbourne Road.
It's say 5 minutes taxi ride into Newcastle and there are lots of them around.
Vermont (will be expensive)
Malmaison (quayside)
Royal Station (next to train station of course)
Found this website, may be of use.

I'm up there for business most weeks and stay at:
- The Vermont (The BEST!)
- Mal Maison
- Jury's Inn (Should be in your budget)
- Copthorne
I don't know the prices I pay as it's done through company travel desk.
Edited to add there are a couple of Thistles which should be in your price range...
