Makes me sick beyond belief
They deserve life for murder, not just a sentence for child cruelty FFS
I can not understand why the courts/system doesn't treat these people for what they really are, the lowest of the low and who have killed an innocent defenseless child

The couple separated but she remained in the home she shared with her husband in Fife and visited McEwan at weekends, where the abuse took place.

Too right SJ, the thing is they are not even being done for manslaughter!!! WTF? They killed someone and are only being done for cruelty!!! Is this another case of the CPS ******* up and not doing what its supposed to?
This country makes me sick that filth like these animals can kill a child and not get life sentences If I had my way capital punishment would be in place for cases like this, there is no place in society for child murderers
Oh and with a bit of luck that child killer in Turkey wont survive 36 years in their prisons to get to see freedom again

Hard to understand the minds of judges and magistrates today. They can't be that much out of touch. What value do they put on anyone's life these days? I get the impression that the resistance to jailing people now from the Government is so great that they are not allowed to hand out long sentences in "jug" so they find the filth guilty of lesser charges.
How can the authorities even dream of a manslaughter charge anyway in a case like this. Should have been murder in my opinion with those sort of injuries. And the guilty should be in for the foreseeable future!
