Default Tired TAG Heuer?

My TAG watch has started to 'tick' in bursts of 4 seconds.

Keeping time but does this mean the battery needs replaced?

Cheers

Fek. Off to Sitzerland then, or are there authorised places in UK that will replace battery and reseal case?

Maybe I can go with it. Anyone need some Swissol brought back?

any good dealer can now change batteries.

Make sure its an official battery and they have the ability to change it in a vacuum, which is how it should be done.

Same thing happened with mine after about 7 or 8 years. It's the battery on the way out. I took mine to Mappin and Webb (I don't know if they're a chain, but they're a reputable TAG dealer), and they did it for me. I seem to remember it being £20. They cleaned it too. Works fine.

Had mine done plus a service at Ernest Jones. Rotating bezel was fooked so asked them to look at that. All in it was around £100 so make sure you ask all the right questions before they bend you over and call for the extra large broom handle.

£80 for a new battery + service on mine (think it was sent off by the dealer), but that was about 5 years ago.

Excellent service, not expensive, and will do it whilst you wait.

Battery and seal for aprox £15-20

Are you sure its ticking at 4 second itervals ? as the majority of my Quartz watches let me know by running at 2 second intervals.

But Ive never had a Quartz TagHeuer....

The link above goes to Timpsons heel bar type kiosks, this is not what I meant.

In Liverpool, and Manchester there are shops/booths call THEWATCHDOCTOR, they are run by Rolex/Breitling/Omega trained and certified staff. I have used them on many occasions.

But I cant find the link...........

Dougster,

I collected my TAG today from Watches of Switzerland in the Argyle Arcade.

They fitted a new battery for me and re-sealed and cleaned it for £35.

They are the only local authorised folk I believe, other than sending it away for a period of time.

They wanted £120 to service it also.
