Bad luck Steve.

What are you qualified in? Look at the jobs available here in Cumbria and see what you could do. I'd seriously look at the redundancy though but only if you could get a job here in 18 months time.

3x AS and you are 'thinking' about it???

Holy Crap, the ink wouldn't have dried on the severance document before I had signed and taken my £250k and RAN!!

OK, I know that anything above £30k is taxed at 40% - but, even at a rather poorer 'take home' £162,000 you wouldn't see me for dust!! That would last me 3 years, enough time to land another job I would assume??

I'm only talking £82k a year for heavens sake! The average wage is now close to £40k - so I'm not stretching the point - we are offering jobs at £45k - £60k without any suitable canditates coming forward!

But I still reckon I would cut'n'run for a £162k net pay-off ....

while a lot of us on here are making over 40k/year, and that may well represent the average on this board, that is not the average wage in the uk.

what job are u offering 60k/year for?

besides, from what i gather, in your case, wouldnt it be late retirement they'd offer rather than redundancy

http://www.awe.co.uk/main_site/caree...ies/index.html

Strangely they have removed the salaries!? It was causing eruptions within the workforce!

Anyway, I know for a fact that Senior Project Managers are being offered £60k ...... you need to be of the highest calibre however, we do not take the also-rans!

Also, you need to be a UK national - obviously.

I think you will find that the max payout for redundancy is limited to approx. £263.00 per year of employment. Could even be capped!

That's only the minimum state terms I think. Company can offer anything they want above that.

I get the state terms plus £1k a year.

Thats probably the state MINIMUM - there is NO Maximum!!

My redundancy package is very generous, a lot more than 3x Salary! hence my overwhelming desire for me to get made redundant (its a HIGHER pay-off if I am made COMPULSARY redundant!) ....... role on the dole queue

Is anyone else also concerned at the number of times "speculative" is mis-spelt on Pete's website? Do we really want poorly educated people messing with atomic weapons?
