you'll have to go M1 south to get to London from LB - junctions 10-9 are chokka nearly EVERY morning. There is normally always an accident somewhere between 10-7 every morning too.....

Try cheddington/tring areas. Both have stations on the mainline to euston, but are still relatively 'rural' . A41 easily accessible too if you wanted to drive in.

There's a fast train from Tring every morning.
Starts from Tring with only 2 stops, into Euston in around 30/35 mins. Think it leaves around 7.45am, though don't quote me on that.
Dave.

I live there.........its a no no for driving to london though, The fast train gets you to Euston in 35mins. I would commute if I had to!!
Like all places its got its rought areas, but they are easy to avoid. I would avoid most villages personally, except Stanbridge and Heath & Reach, as its nice to have a rail station!!
Best of all its got the best strip joint in the country (and i have been 2 a few!!).
