Scott Mills anti flag propaganda
<rant mode on>
Currently Scott Mills is DJ'ing on radio 1 and stating that any idividual who is displaying an England flag on their car WILL get 3 points and a fine upto £2500
Now before i am shot down i am not a flag bearing driver myself but i appluade anyone who wishes to display their proudness over their nation irrelevant of their race.
What i do have an issue with is the blatant misrepresentation of the law, a nice sounding female law student rang up to explain that you must be obstructing your veiw before the flags would be deemed a punishable offence, these flags are above the line of sight of the driver and therefore legal to own and use in the correct manner
Once he had ignored and interupted her, he said before playing the next song, "there you have it if you drive with these flags you will get 3 points"
I am now very angry at the misrepresention of the facts and its not good enough for the BBC to tout such bull5hit
now i'm off to chill out, feel free to discuss as you wish

Got nothing to back this up but I heard that the police were viewing them as 'possible' offences due to the fact that they can come loose and easily cause damage to other vehicles or pedestrains if hit by one. Like i said, i have no evidence that this is true. My personal opinion is that they look crap and yes I am patriotic but don't need a £1 flag sticking out the top of my car to prove it! Scott Mills is only stirring to try and get ratings up in my opinion and he was SPOT ON about those crappy blue neon windscreen washers that started appearing everywhere and they look really crap.

But don't you find most radio DJs just talk utter inane drivel all the time anyway?
Beats me why most people listen to the self-important little jerky boys (and girls). They are the aural equivelant of the Daily Sport, but with less t!ts (well apart from that geezer who got a show on the telly recently - he had t!ts - Moyles that was him).
They sit just above chavs on the social ladder and anything half funny they come up with was usually doing the rounds on the net a week or two earlier.
Give me either a news show or 5 live or some such, or a CD in the car any day.

And it's nothing to do with being proud of England - it's purely because of football otherwise these people would display them all year round would they not?
Anyway I'm with Sniffpetrol on this one
tiggers.

There is no law against the flags as long as they are secured to your vehicle properly. The only problem seems to be people tying flags to aeriels that then come loose and fly off

scott mills = ****
flags on cars = chav
they deserve each other!
T
ps- lets not be silly, these flags have nothing to do with England....they are to do with football.
if you wanted to show off England to the world you would not use a team captained by a thick bloke that ***** around in cahrge of other thick blokes managed by a foreign bloke and supported by ppl clever enough to either beat each other up or spend their dole money buying the work clothes of the thick people thus making the thick people richer! im sure we have more to offer than that!

They do look pretty naff though. I was in Sheff at the weekend and every second car had them on. I myself am proud of where I am from, and when at the rally I hang my Saltire proud, wouldn't dare stick those things on my car though! I think a flag laid out on the boot shelf or a small window sticker will suffice!
