my dog got stolen in blackpool
the story is,
my mum went to blackpool with our two dogs, one of which is mine, cut a long story short,
she went for a drink in the lifeboat inn around 1pm last wednesday, got chatting to a,seemed at the time friendly bloke.
anyway my mum needed the loo,she was going to take both of the dogs with her when the bloke said he would look after my dog whilst she went to the loo.
when she got back HE HAD GONE WITH MY DOG stolen her.
she should have been coming back today but shes stayed to try and find her.
she been to the police, newspapers, radio, dogs homes, everywhere but no joy
the police arnt interested at all.
im absolutely gutted to the point of tears, ive had her since she was born and she means so much to me.
i just dont know what to do
i cant just give up on her.
any suggestions would be really appreciated.

That's terrible . What a horrible cowardly thing to do to win someones trust then do something like that.
Find out if they have CCTV in the pub would be the first task and ask them if they know of him. Take a look through the local papers/newsagents/petshops and inform them in case he tries to sell her. Put posters around and leave info in pubs. If you know an artist get them to do a photofit of the ****.
What does your mum know about the bloke? Any small clues as to what he does, where he lives etc? He would probably have had no reason to lie because presumably he wouldn't have known the opportunity would arise until your mum went to the toilet.
I'd get on the police's case again too, maybe they will be more interested once they know you have gone to all the papers etc.

That's terrible, it's not a good thing but I'd want to track down the bast**d and cause him serious pain if it were my dog.
As someone said above try and get the local press involved, offer a reward for the dogs safe return, and hopefully someone will have seen her or know of her whereabouts.

That's awful I haven't got much practical advice, all I can offer is loads of sympathy for you, you must feel gutted
Does your mum know where the bloke came from? A long shot I know but might be worth printing out a load of flyers and distributing them locally. What breed of dog is she? Could also be worth contacting local breeders/dog clubs etc. Is your dog microchipped?. Have you contacted the local dog warden? There's Lost and Found page on the Kennel Club's site. Have you got any pics of her you could post on here?
Stealing someones pet, that is such a low-life thing to do, what a total scumbag piece of sh*t that bloke must be
I really hope you find her.

If it is a pedigree there are people who take them and then try to sell them back to you, it is, or was, hopefully, a big thing in the south east, mainly rich people / rare dogs, but if he doesn't know where you live / have your mums number, they can't get in touch. I'd leaflet the pub where it happened (buy yourself a pay as you go SIM so you can chuck it away after), offer a reward, hang around there as much as you can, put the word around the pubs that you'll take no action if you get her back.
Keep your chin up, mate, I had a dog until last year for twelve years and you can't replace them, but take positive action!

That really is horrible. There are so low life scum out there. I know with Scooby I would never leave her in a public place. Especially as she is a Staffy and there are certain elements of our 'society' that prize these dogs.
The depths that some people will goto is unbelievable. I hope you find her.

This is getting very common i know some body who was out walking her dogs and had one snatched by a man in hiding in the bushes and he then got in a car and drove off the Police caught him but didn't prosecute.
My local Vets have advised me not to leave my dogs unattended in public. or in the garden if i am not there and not in a car as they break the windows to get them out knowing that the alarm is off.
they then claim to have found the dog in the streets and return it when you offer the correct reward.

this is the annoying thing, shes just a little collie.
why anyone would want to sell her.
spoke to the police today, they are now seeing it as a criminal offence and have been down to the pub where she was stolen taking statements and looking a cctv.
hopfully something will come from this.
it hasent sunk in yet, cant belive whats happened
just hopping so much that we get her back.

just a little update,
my mum has got our dog back she was looking for her when she saw the bloke who took her crossing the road with my dog.
all he could say was that he was just looking after her,ye right, when my mum started to have a go at him,he ran off.
all that matters is that weve got her back
proper bo.

Top stuff, what a result !!!!
Would have been nice to follow him and find his address, somebody could have *cough* paid him a visit and showed him the error of his ways.
Why cause such heartache !! either some people are totally devoid of emotion or are not intelligent enough to understand the consequence of their actions.
How can some one stoop so low as to nick somebody’s dog!! Beyond me
