Anyone got a fridge in their bedroom?
As I probably hold the record for the UK`s smallest kitchen, I have a slight problem with my fridge. Its just one of those poxy wee under-counter things with a freezer almost big enough to hold a bag of oven-chips.
I am considering buying a bigger one, but have absolutely no-where in the kitchen to put it, so that leaves either the living-room, which I dont want, or the bedroom. There is plenty room in the bedroom, but Im worried the noise of the compressor running at night will wake me up.
I dont have a shed and the garage is about 8 miles away.
Anyone in the same situation?

I have a stella artois fridge in the bedroom which we did notice for the first couple of weeks with its "pings" and buzzing but now I dont notice it and the advantage of having stella at arms reach far ourweighs the noise

You could get an absorption type fridge. They have no compressor just a heater element. Almost silent - just the odd swish sound of gas moving about.
Normally they are mini-firdges. But you can get bigger ones, Electrolux specialise in them. Usually they are 3 way combination types for caravans (gas mains and 12volts) but you can get ones that just run off mains and nothing else. 2nd advantage is there is only three things to go wrong on them: Heater element: £20 easy DIY fix (last about 5years). Thermosats, or the gas leaking out. I can't understand why they aren't more popularthan they are

hmmmmm, I actually work for a caravan dealership, and knew about these in caravans, but wasnt sure if they were available for home use in bigger sizes.
I could bag a caravan fridge from work but the normal ones are about half the size of the one I have and the new "big" ones are maybe only a wee bit bigger overall, and bloody expensive.
I will look into home versions, thanks.

I've got a small fridge for my beer in my wardrobe, buzzes a bit a night but not enough to stop me going to sleep (& even the slightest noise usually keeps me awake).

i've got one, four foot high bugger with freezer on top
will (and has) take 10 cases of 330ml bottles (took bloody ages to chill though).
i've had fridges in my bedroom for over 10 years now so i can't really comment on the noise as i don't notice it know, but it's NEVER woken me up/driven me mad
