Angry B&Q: rip-off merchants!!

Just been out to get a replacement bulb for the fridge, 15W, SES

Screwfix price: £0.49, but needs an order of more than £45 for no P&P
Wickes price: £1.19..........well, OK, I can buy it now, and no P&P:
Focus price: £2.00............a bit steep, methinks:
B&Q price:, (and don't forget, they own Screwfix): A whopping £3.49

What on earth is the country coming to when you can be asked to pay 7 times as much for the same product, just because it's local???????????

Even Scoob parts depts could learn from B&Q, it seems:

I remember having to use B&Q for a couple of halogen bulbs that went just before Christmas last year..all the usual places were shut...they cost so much I felt like I'd been mugged

Take proof of the price to B&Q and they'll match it, whilst also taking off another 10%.

As a general rule I've found B&Q's prices to be pretty reasonable - particularly on the more pricey stuff. I guess they have to try and make it back somewhere *shrug*

What ya moaning about. Just go to Wickes and get it there.

Remember, B&Q only ripping you off if you buy it from them.

Focus and Wickes are the same company

By the time you've trogged round that many shops, you've probably spent more than the difference from B&Q in petrol and time

My "corner" shop is now a Tesco Express so it's like the supermarket but with less screaming brats and old people standing in the middle of the isle

Not doing your homework and paying over the odds is one thing but researching the prices as you have and still buying from them, well, more fool you I guess.

B&Q - 4 x 6 sheet of MDF board - £12.49

I'm sure this is true, as Screwfix is mail order, and no-one price matches mail order...................do they?

BTW: bought my bulb from Wickes, but went to B&Q first as they are about 2 mins from the house. I was so disgusted I drove across town to Wickes to get one!

That sucks!

I just had to buy a replacement magnetic 'key' for our cat/catflap.
The cost for this item £ 7.99!!!

it is just a small silver coloured ball, it did come with a collar though.
I estimate cost to produce £ 0.30p This was from Wyvale(sp).
