In theory yes, but in practice movements of amounts over about 12-15 000 euro will be seriously looked at for money laundering purposes. So you'd better have a watertight alibi.

nothing illegal I can assure the moderators.
just having to make changes based on the way the UK is going I'm afraid.
I'm using the "get out now before it all goes t1ts-up" clause

Just move to the republic of Ireland, much nicer place, less hassle moving money, cheap houses and they'll never find you; who ever may want your blood.

Well I sold my house and transferred precisely that much from Ab Nat UK sterling account into a Portuguese bank euro account. Took 3 days and cost £30 (would have been a tenner if I'd wanted to put a bank draft in my pocket and travel with it, but too terrified - that's my life's savings!). No-one batted an eyelid (that I knew of).

I appreciate that you can trasfer money via bank BUT that's traceable.

So if it's above board, why the bankrupcy and dealings with cash?

If it is legit, and TBH I don't care, it's easy to transfer largs amounts of cash to a B/A abroard, taking 150k in cash is quite risky I'm sure you'll agree, oh and they *will* want to know why you are taking that much out of the country, in cash, you won't get through costums without them frisking you.

Go to Ireland, no customs like I say, oh and the fishings good as well!

Then you have no reason to worry, stick your money in your bank account, they will prolly ask for proof of your house sale for that much cash, and get it sent to you acct. abroard, SIMPLE!!!

You can use the transfer services of XE.com or, as I did, pre-arrange for a exchange bureaux to expect you to arrive with x amount at a set time. Convert the money into the local currency, then put it into a local bank account - I told them the money was to buy properties and they were happy enough with that, but they do get suspicious if it's over 5000 Euros - in which case, if you have enough time, deposit it on a daily basis to avoid raising any alarm.

Humm, just as I suspected!

Yeh **** the loan companies over, just what I would do/will do when theres nothing around here for me anymore.

Don't know how you will get through customs though, if you get rumbled, it's straight to jail and don't pass go!

How much have you got on loan?

I still say R of Ireland, easy to get very lost, and it's a loverly place to live and you can take the cash in the back of your car and theres no worry of customs!

You will have no problems whatsoever..

Unless your stopped, or robbed.

If your stopped and its all above board, you will face delays whilst answering questions, and whilst they confirm your story.

Are you flying, sailing or other ?

What note denomonation do you expect to take.

What security arrangements are you going to take.(PM me for advice)

When are you going, and can you post a picture of yourself, so I know what you look like.

Audi-Boy,

You should really try it.

The hassle you've go to go through to open what is classed as a "Non-Resident Account"

They're really clamping down on this sort of thing now........It went on for years having said that, including Joe Public to Much higher up country officials

Good Luck.

There's only one good reason to be seen wearing combat pants if you're not in the SAS...

Either way, the buzzers at EMA didn't go off when I walked through so they had no reason to stop me out of the UK or into Spain....
