Now, A car can get struck by Umpteen kV of electricty without electronic or electrical problems, yet if you catch a dozy mechanic welding your car without disconnecting the battery you'd go ape at them.
Ok, it was a diesel, but it still has an ECU to control the PDi thingy and pretty much everything else too.

Try downloading the whole programme from shareaza.com. IT should be on there in a few days time, just finished downloading the 30th May episode.
I guess whether you like TG depends on if you have a sense of homour or not. If you don't like the format why bother watching it??? What sort of moron watches a programme they don't like?
Oh I watched Eastenders last night, what a load of sh*te....................

What was the name of the place where they took the Jag XKR, BMW and the Porker, would love to have a go at that.

Top Gear is an excellent program imho. It gives you all you need about the cars in a fun format that interests even my wife who has absolutely no interest generally in car programs. Just look at the yawn inducing 5th Gear format. Personally I'd like to see Tiff driving the cars round the track myself as I reckon he would get alot better from them than the Stig. But it's still the best car program we have ever had - we should be applauding the BBC and Clarkson for creating it, not constantly slagging it off as it occasionally doesnt like a Scooby.
What other program takes the pi55 out of people as much as they do ? Nobody else gets away with it. Love it.

In the past I would of agreed with your sentiment but I feel it's just gone on a wee bit too long ....... and the balance has shifted over to the side of 'too entertainment based' and not 'imformative enough'
an example if I may
ie. I can't make up my mind whether or not I should buy a Jag XKR, a BMW 645i or a 911
Hmmmmm... let Top Gear sway my opinion by testing all 3 to the max on ........ wet sand
Now.... I know it was all to do with posterity and speed records etc, but if I was looking to choose between the 3 I'd still know **** all
I simply don't enjoy it as much as I did

Yeah but that is my point. Testing on the sand means about as much as testing on the track in terms of what sort of a road car will it be. They were really saying they are all great cars in their own way (they had the road bit first) but when it comes down to feel and excitement the Jag wins. Doesnt matter where they tested it - the sand just made it more entertaining. I loved seeing them abuse the cars on the sand.
I agree it can get a bit silly, but really you can only use a program to help give you options then you have to make yr own mind up. As with all the WR1 vs Evo rubbish - it isnt what 3 journalists say that should decide what car you buy. It should just show you the options.

The only crit I would make is ~ I'm getting a bit peeved with hearing Clarkson going into orgasm about a different car every week.
Can someone please tell him that you can put across the point that you like something without all the adjectives and prolonged silences and gasps etc.
But then again, I'm not Mr C's biggest fan. Otherwise, the prog fills a gap. Its watchable and like an easy to read novel, you can wander off to the loo or for a brew and still not have missed much when you get back. )

Funny how some of us think the same?
Would anyone buy those 3 cars that had spent all day in sand and saltwater? I don't care how clean they may have been after thats like putting a tooth in a can of coke for a few days!
Johnny V - looked extremely out of place and fidgity (coke crossed my mind as been naughty with it before but I doubt it) and didn't seem to fit very well.
Anyone notice they missed out deciding where the GT3RS should go on the cool board. It was in JCs hand and then when they came back to him it was in "Cool".
I like it although it is very JC orintated and I think Mark Hammond is going for a "Duncan Dares" approach to TV presenting.

Re the sand thing,
pretty pointless but that Jag looked stunning blasting across the sand, some really nice photography, kept reminding me of a Cerbera the Jag, which is strage as I always think that the XK Jag is a retired gentlemans golf chariot complete with Gin dispensers and a Cravat hook !
BMW is pretty ugly.
Still the Porsche for me I think.
I thought Hammond getting plastered with sand was very funny, dont think it was contrived.
