iv lived on one all my life, but that was an old un
this one has been built from scratch to exactly how we want it.

it works out a hell of a lot cheaper to build one from scratch, then to buy a fully fitted out new boat.

Danny - I'm assuming this is a narrowboat that you are building? Have you tried the specialist boat brokerage arms of LloydsTSB etc? Can you not get a boat mortgage?

Try lombard (not lombard direct) They have specialist lending branches for stuff like this (basically anything you can live in that isn't a house,) although at 25k you should be able to get a personal loan without too much trouble. If you are really really really stuck, try welcome personal loans or black horse finance. You should get the money, but it wont be cheap.

the actual boat is finished, but thats just the hull, nowt in it.
the 25k should buy an engine and fit it out hopfully.

that in total is a fully fitted out new boat for £40000
i could put that on the market for at least £70k,quite a good profit

but that isent our aim, hope to live on it for at least 5 years.
