British National ID card...is it here yet?
Heard a rumour some time back that UK was on verge of introducing a National Identity Card...
Is this underway or still in early discussion?

Search the BBC web site, don't think it has been passed in parliment, but I can't see there being any major objections. Last I heard was volutery uptake initially (from 2006) I think for a fee of £30 or so
