Guys,

Do any of you know of any FREE services to finding the location (within the UK) of mobile phones preferably via the Web.

I have found a few that you have to pay for but seen as I am only testing this for now I dont really want to sign up to any agreements.

does anyone know if there are data protection issues with tracking people's whereabouts via their mobile phone? reason is, we currently run trackers on our vehicles, but there are problems as some staff have worked out how to disconnect them and also that the vehicles get rotated quite frequently. i was thinking mobile 'phone trackers might be a better option, but would i have to inform people that this information was being accessed?

Yes you do have to tell them (unfortunately). The first time it sends them a text which asks their permission for you to track their phone.

Cheers for that, Tavia. I can see that this would lead to a sudden outbreak of being unable to contact anyone due to them having left their phone at home.

All ours are Work Mobiles so the company owns them but we still have to tell them all that we will be doing what we do.

Think I will just have to stick to the old phone them up and ask
