Terror attack - are we ready?
According to Panorama it would seem not.
Good to see Blunkett declining to comment!

To be brutally frank, I don't think you can prepare for the unexpected. Yes, a terror attack may happen sometime in the UK, but we don't know where/when/how.
Expecting the emergency services to be prepared for anything is probably no different from what they train for now.

IMHO All this stuff is scaremongering and only serves the cause of the terrorist, that and it gives the government leeway to introduce legislation that errodes civil liberties even more.
Did we have such pandering to fear when the IRA where bombing town centres? Not that I remember. People just got on with life and stopped worrying about it.
Now what do we get terrorists lurking in every town and city, just waiting to unleash a dirty bomb etc etc. For terrorist read Communist, Libyan, Russki, The IRA, or whatever the boogyman of the moment maybe. The best and only way to defeat the terrorist(be it forigen or domestic) is to carry on with your life as though they don't exist.
Heck if our grandparents can do it in direct threat of being blown to bits by a German bomber every day I'm sure as heck we should be able to .
