Returning Goods Without The Original Box...
I bought an air cooler/de-humidifier from Homebase on the 8th April this year -it cost £72 and today has been the first day I could try it properly with it being warm.
What a waste of money !
The problem is I threw the box away as I thought it would do the job I still have the reciept. Am I still within my rights to take it back for some sort of refund I'm not bothered if its just a credit note as I'm always spending money there.
Advice appreciated before i take it back.
Thanks
Matt

Big stores like that are very consumer friendly, I reckon they do it no probs. Just explain how dissapointed you are and you feel it doesnt perform the task as advertised.

Most retail outlets will only refund goods if returned in a re-salable condition..
This will normally include all packaging, manuals etc ie as it was originally sold
I would expect they will refund/credit you what they could reasonably expect to sell ot for again, with no box could be 50% less although their not obliged to by law, really down to their discresion..
Perhaps make it non functional instead, remove something inside and take it back as faulty for a Full refund
