I bought a good Arai when I passed my CBT, everyone took the **** because my helmet was worth almost as much as my 125. That helmet took some battering, and probably saved my nonce plenty of times. Then I got an AGV X-vent. That definately saved my life in a bad smash. I made a complete mess of the helmet, and I had to visit hospital with concusion, but I was told if I had been wearing a cheaper helmet, it would have cracked in two, and so might my head!!!

Buckrogers, I had lots of knocks in the Arai, but they were small dings that hardly marked the paintjob on the helmet. The general rule is they are OK for a few of these, but anything that removes the paint should get the helmet scrapped. The crash in the first AGV took the paint off one side, so it went straight in the bin, no questions.
