Any Procurement manager/officer?

My GF went for an interview for an assist Buyer but she got a phone call for a second round interview for a procurement monkey because they think she is more suit for the role with her degree. (business infomation tech with supply chain management)
Please can you tell me more about the job role of a procurement manager/officer does and what will they likely to ask her in the 2nd interview.
