Question Using mobile abroad

Going to the Netherlands with work, though not entirely sure about using the mobile.

If my number is 0786 *******

Once in Utrecht, would someone from the UK have to call:

00 31 786 *******

If someone from within the Netherlands calls me would they just call 0786 ******* ?

Had a quick look on the Vodafone site and it only said whether or not my mobile would work (which I knew anyway).

People in the uk would dial you number as normal and the dutch would call as per an international call from their end.

People in the UK will be able to dial your phone as per normal, ie without the 00 prefix. The person calling you will pay the same amount if you are abroad or in this country but you pay to make and recieve calls when "roaming". Check this cost with your operator as they have different pricing zones.

However you will have to add 00 44 xxx when dialing back into the UK, and remove the 0 off the beginning of the phone number.

Hello

As above.

The only thing I have to add is that the cost of calls abroad can be extremely high (£1 a minute high), so check with your operator first. Sometimes you can take out a special subscription that reduces your costs whilst abroad. Texting can also be charged at different rates.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies - looks like I was wrong

Main reason for sussing this out is that I'll be getting in contact with some friends from another BB who live in the Netherlands, for a beer

Thanks again!
