Question do you want to leave the UK ?

read a thread earlier about 50% of UK's population wanting to leave the country.

So heres a poll, no reasons required, lets see what the scoobynet community says.

Red face

Ok - So far it appears that the majority would leave.

I guess the next logical step is to find out the top 10 reasons for leaving the UK.

Already gone.

The grass is browner though because it's high 80s today, and will be for the next five or so months

moving to france in the summer, in the process of buying property there, been over a few times this year and going over again soon to get to know the various departments (counties), flights from stansted have really made it easy to go anywhere in Europe

Why?

Got fed up with job, applied for and got redundancy

Sick of traffic

The weather

People just want to get one over you

So that's a requirement to not whinge then is it because it has the highest average ( or avarge ) house price?

You can do better than that.

You also don't really know what others own on here and why that just might not be enough to prevent them from leaving this undeniably declining country.

That isn't a grass is greener statement either because this country still has a lot to offer it just doesn't know how to offer it anymore.

Unhappy

I'll stick with my country because I'm proud to live here..Sadly it seems most people have lost that feeling being English and proud to stand up for the country.

Btw what ever tony does it doesn't change the fact.I'm proud to be English and would always stand up for my country, with all its faults it may have.

I'm really sadden to see this sort of poll, but i guess i was brought up differently from most people on here.

My grandfather would be crying if he was alive today, to see how spineless people in this country have become..sad sad day

LOL 273 views but only 59 votes cast. Is this the voter apathy we hear so much about?

As the 2nd post says, 50% may say if asked that they might leave the UK, but I doubt anywhere near 1% of that 50% would actually follow it through. 50% of the UK WOULD NOT leave this country tmmrw!!! That figure is plain nonsense.

1) If you've got kids, you're going to be doing a lot of research into schools and whether you'd upset their education depending upon what stage they're at.

2) Do you go for an non-english speaking or english speaking country. That restricts your choice.

3) Will the country you want to go to let you in even if you want to go? The english-speaking countries are more difficult - USA, Canada, Oz - all very tight on entry.
Obviously can move freely in most of Europe, but that really only leaves Eire for english-speaking!

4) Prepared to leave all your friends & family behind?

5) How can you be sure the country you are going to is any better in reality.

However, if you can overcome all these things, fair play to you. You're in the 1% who would actually go through with it.

if i could find a decent job abroad and it was easy enough to move away, i would do without delay

i know my dad has looked into getting a job in america and packing up here, but american firms dont seam to want to chance a well payed job to sumbody from the uk.

if he did it, it would give me the perfect opertunity to see what its really like and i could judge accordingly

but lets be honest, this country is really getting on peoples wicks now

It's not a case of being spineless. You can **** into the wind for only so long before you get fed up with having wet trousers. The wind ain't going to change direction, you need to.

I'm going to be in the UK for the first time in over two years this November. I take it for granted that it's going to be cold and damp but sadly I assume that when I take a train into London it's going to be late, overcrowded, filthy and expensive. The escalators on the Underground will be broken, the Underground train will be from the 1950s and crammed full of miserable looking sods. The underpasses will smell of p!ss and the streets be full of litter. I'll stop somewhere decent for a meal which will be overpriced, too small , and served (slowly) by grumpy waitstaff. If I stay in central London for the evening I might be lucky enough to see some fights, some vomiting and step in a discarded kebab.

Another interesting way to look at it is that if 50% of people want to leave the UK, you have to remember that less than 50% of people voted in the last general election.

To me, that says a lot. More than 50% of people don't give enough of a $hit about the UK to even vote. Then complain! If you don't vote, you lose your right to complain.

Quite happy here at the moment.

I like 8 months of sh1te wheather.

I like waking up in the dark, and finishing work in the dark, seeing no sunlight for 8 months is cool by me.

I love getting out of bed at 0530hrs, and shivering in the bathroom, seeing my breath makes me feel alive.

I like the way its nice all week, then pi55es down at the weekend, putting a downer on anything you plan.

I like the way the country is run, I enjoy paying taxes on everything.
Especially petrol, and NI for our brilliant NHS.

I like the way the tax paying, law abiding (ish) road users are picked on with revenue spinning gadgets.

I like the way the country is policed.

I like the way our country lets any Tom, Dick, or Harry in with no permits or documentation to work for £3 a day, which eventually will have a knock on effect for all workers.

I like our judicial system, the way it punishes minor offenders, and lets off the real criminals.

I like the way you can just waltz out of one well paid job straight into another.

I like de-icing my windscreen, I like it when my doors freeze shut, and ice on the roads is a pleasure.

I couldnt imagine myself will a job I liked, in a sunnier country, by the sea, with no neighbours, or speed cameras.
Sun, sand, sea, and all that.
I couldnt imagine working 9-5, going to work in daylight and coming home in sunlight, being able to crash out on the beach until 2000hrs, I shudder to think what a miserable existance it would be.

No.

Thats not for me, Ill stick it out here, British Bulldog stylie.....

Wheres the rope.......

Later Yoza
