Angry Bloody Insurance companies :(

As you know my scooby had a little mishap on Bank holiday Monday
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...ght=dazza]here

{rant mode on}

Took it to Scoobyclinic the next day and contacted L&V to let them know what had happened and where the car was.

Well, they told me to pass onto Scoobyclinic the ref number for the accident and also the fax number for them to send the details too, then L&V can send out an the chap to inspect the car to make sure everthing is as it should be,

well here's where the fun begins....
L&V were faxed the details by scoobyclinic,great so Friday i call Adam (Special X) at Scoobyclinic to enquire if they have been in touch with them....Nope nothing not a dickie bird, so i call L&V who say they have not yet received anything, so i call Adam and ask if they can resend the details to them.

Well call them again on Tuesday (car now been off road 8 days )and guess what, still they say they have nothing, so i tell them to call Scoobyclinic now and give them a new fax number to send the details too again.

So about an hr later spoke with Kev at the clinic who informs me its been sent yet again to a different fax number this time in the hope they get it.
Well the chap from L&V calls me back and says yes we have the details and can now put them onto the system and get things moving, great i thought, he says the chap will inspect the car within the next 3 days and once they have his report they can ok the repairs, so i ask if this can be brought fwd to the time i have been waiting ( oh yes L&V excuse for not getting the report from SC was that there fax machine wasn't working properly ?? yer right) no problem he said, he will send the details to them asap.

Great, we can get things moving now, well postie has just delivered the mail,and guess whats in it, a letter from H.ROOK consulting engineers, who are going to inspect the car, but they haven't a clue where the car is and the letter ask's me to inform them where it is and when they can go and inspect it, well, u can bet u last pound that when i call them on Monday morning, and tell them where the car is, there gonna say ok give us 3 or more days and we will send the engineer round.

Why the **** couldn't L&V tell them where the car, when they asked them to view it to save time and get the repairs underway.

{rant mode off}

Well they always say you only find out how good ur insurance company is after you have had a ding dong don't they.

But ending this on a happier note, got my chq for £2300 yesterday for my bruised finger and back, (+ damage to jeans and coat) as compensation for my bike crash in Aug 2002

If they make you wait that long for compensation so they can make as much back as possible from interest paid on what they owe you, do they increase the payment by inflation over the time they owed it to you?

Sounds as though there is more than the normal amount of sheer incompetence at the insurance firm with respect to your Scoob.
