Depends on the manufacturer and the details of the warranty.

I know Brits over here that have had to take stuff to get repaired, usually small goods like cameras etc. and have generally had no problems with reputable manufacturers, although general shops won't help unless you bought it from them. You have to go to a registered dealer or contact the distributer of the country your in.

I know as far as we are concerned (I work for Panasonic audio/visual products) most stuff doesnt carry an international warranty. If it does it will only be a "limited" international warranty which will cover normally 3 months parts and labour at an authorised UK service dealer.
