Projection screen anyone ?
I'm looking into buying a projection screen for my NEC 540VT LCD projector and I'm getting a little confused
Screens are very expensive and was looking at a product by a company called Goo systems this is a paint on the wall type and looks to have a fairly good result at a much reduced cost.
the complications come when there are several colours .... from white to digital Grey. The Projector isn't new and I can't find wether white or Grey will be best Help

Depends how serious you are....I have a projector and instead of spending £100's on a screen I bought a Blackout Blind from B&Q (I think). It is basically a pure white roller blind. Does the job perfect and only £30 if I remember.
Had a look and it's one of these, but mine is 2 meters across
Blackout Blind only £14
hope this helps

If you are going to have a screen that is permanently installed, then it is probably a good idea to build your own.
If I remember correctly, the NEC has good brightness, but fairly poor black performance, so a grey screen (as opposed to bright white) is probably a good idea.
Dulux Icestorm 5 or 6 (one of the colours that you get mixed up at your local diy store), will probably suit you fine and is much cheaper than Goo.

I've allready got a Blackout blind on the window and the room is super dark when the Curtains and blind are closed ( Curtain for the edges of the blind )
Thanks for the info on the dulux I'll go look for that now.
I'm projecting on an Eggshell white wall at the moment and the picture is quite good IMHO. But I want to make the Black performance a little better as you said that seems to be where the projector lets me down.
