How much would you spend on a meal?
Not as much as this guy did in Gordon Ramsay's place last week.
DINNER BILL HITS £42,000
A diner has spent a staggering £42,000 on a meal for a group of friends at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in London.
The man paid for himself and six colleagues last week at the celebrity chef's Petrus restaurant, the Daily Mirror reported.
"When the diner went to pay for the meal it took 45 minutes to process his credit card," an insider told the newspaper.
"Next time he says he'll bring cash. It was definitely unusual."
The massive bill did not, however, break the record of £45,000 spent in the same establishment three years ago.
Ramsay, 37, who owns the restaurant with chef Marcus Waring, told the TV Times: "I hope he's back.
"Trust me, I'll cook for him personally, £42,000... my God.
"It was a nice way of starting the week off. It was staggering, though we did have a bigger bill back in 2001.
"It goes to show that these things aren't freaks."
Waiter Jean Pierre explained: "The customer loves the restaurant and he comes every six months to London.
"He enjoys his wines and hopefully we'll see him back in six months."
The price of the meal reportedly rocketed after the diner ordered the restaurant's finest wines.
Chip.

Ramsay was on the same plane as me coming back from London a few weeks ago.
I personally dont know the bloke but i would agree that i think he's a complete tosser by the way he treats his underlings
So in good Northern tradition as he sat down in the seat behind me i dropped an almighty fart that stunk the cabin out. My boss, sat next to me went red as **** and i just stared at him as if it was him. I could hear Ramsay sat behind me saying "**** me thats evil" i turned round and said sorry but not to blame my boss for the fart as he'd eaten some dodgy food at at some dodgy cafe called Petrus in London.
Ramsay just said "Ha fookin Ha"

People who would pay that for a meal in a world where people are starving right left and centre frankly need a reality check.
