roadworks ? - call the highways agency
A colleague's wife works at the highways agency. Apparently they have a phone line you can call regarding any roadworks on a motorway or trunk road outside the M25.
Basically if you're travelling from Bristol to Edinburgh (or anywhere else)you can call them to see where and when roadworks will be. You actually speak to a person too which, is nice.
Anyway, they're currently looking at expanding the service to include A and B roads but are unsure if the service demand warrants it. So, the more people that call the info line, the greater the chances are of it becoming a really good service.
