I hate loud music when driving... If I can't hear the road noise, engine noise and other loud noises outside the car then I don't feel fully in control and I can't concentrate on my driving The findings in the above article really don't surprise me!

An ex-girlfriend used to drive around with music on full volume and couldn't drive to save her life and had several <30mph crashes in the 2 year period we were going out. I tried to get her to turn the music down and she wouldn't have it. She also used to turn my radio up all the time... p1ssed me off no end

I don't have a problem with loud music at other times... home, clubs etc. its just while I'm driving.

Am I the only one who can't stand to drive with loud music or do other people have concentration issues when the volumes pumped up?

never bothered me really... i've driven round with very loud music and with music off and it makes no difference to my driving...


I dont need to worry about engine noise cos the exhaust is loud enough to still be heard over the music!!!

Plus most of the time if there is ever a problem i can feel it by the behaviour of the car... so i dont tend to worry.

I can understand a little with the issue as to type of music, but its not the music that affects the drivers reactions, i think it is the mood that it creates. This may have an effect

Yeah if you have to drive then to be safe don't listen to Radio one
