Slightly out of date meat
Hello
I have some mince meat that went out of date yesterday. It's a little bit brown (but red in the middle).
Am I going to either die or spend a very exciting night on the toilet if I eat it?
(My wife is currently away: Otherwise she would have simply looked at me in disgust and thrown it away!)
Steve.

What meat is it. If its been wrapped in supermarket clingfilm its probably old anyway as they put preservatives in it to make it stay "fresher" longer.
It wont hurt you if you cook it to 70+c.
If its beef it'll taste better if its older.

I've eaten mince older than that, you'll be fine!!
Do a chilli with it and bung plenty of cayenne powder and habeneros in - that'll sort out any bacteria!!

Just make sure you brown it thoroughly first with some chopped onion, then give your chilli mix a good 45mins simmering, you'll be fine. As Chip says, beef tastes better when it's aged some anyway
