and there was me thinking it might have been a little insensitive in case anybody had recently taken a policy out with them
Sorry to hear you chose them carl, hopefully you might be able to get some of your cash back

I didn't "choose" them as such. They're the only company that do warranties for TVRs. They also underwrite the factory TVR warranty -- I wonder what's going to happen there.
General consensus is that existing policyholders will probably still be OK to claim.

Got my power steering pump changed fine last week, on a policy underwritten by WHA. They didn't have a problem with it, so I guess I'm the exception rather than the rule.

Great News.
I've been conned by these crooks in the past. They DO pay out a few claims of course just to keep the big dealers happy but they operate a strict policy of only paying out a % of what the garage has paid to them.
One garage I dealt with had spent over £100,000 with them over the years as they put a full warranty on every used car they sold. WA still operated a policy of comparing the premiums received to the claims paid out. Its a guaranteed way of making large profits.
You have to fight them every inch of the way. One dealer recently offered me a WA warranty but I said I'd far rather have the cash and take my chances than have a worthless warranty.
I had a Porsche and maintained a 100% service history with the main dealer at enormous cost. Warranty Holdings refused the warranty as wear and tear. I bought the car from a small dealer who only sold a few cars and therefore only paid WA for a few premiums. There was no way on earth they would pay out more than they had received in premiums from that dealer.

I had a warranty with them on my old vr6 corrado. Needed a new radiator (stone chip created a pinhole leak) and they replaced it no problems. Quickly and efficently as I remember. Going back about 3 years though. policy bought by myself direct. As long as I had a proper FSH, all was ok. fix done at a normal garage (not a main dealer).
