Foglight tossers on Salisbury Plain - watch out!
3 cheers for the Old Bill!
Driving home last night across the plain between Shrewton and Tilshead was a car about 400M behind me with his front fogs and low beam on. A jam sandwich going the other way (towards Shrewton) saw this bloke and swung into the wide bit of gravel opposite Westdown Camp (if you know the area) changed direction and followed the tosser back into Tilshead. At the roadworks, he stuck his blue light on and 'had a word' with the tosser. We continued on our way through Tilshead and on the way to West Lavington there was another tosser who thinks foglights make good driving lights so the boy in blue executed another swift 180 in a tank crossing and followed the 2nd tosser to offer him a lesson in correct use of lights.
Two in the space of a couple of minutes.....fan-bloody-tastic!!
Cheers

I used mine last night on the twisty unlit dales back roads. Turned them off as soon as I reached a lit road. I know it was technically wrong of me, but it was purely for safety reasons, not to look like a numpty. I will change them for proper driving lights when Subaru pull there fingers out and offew them for 03's.

Corrodaboy,
If you want to use the factory fit fog lights as driving lights Aka the P1, wire them up as per my thread from some time back.
So long as they only illuminate on full beam it is not illegal.
It is selfish and illegal to use any additional light without a shielded bulb in dip beam conditions.
The shielding is the cap/non translucent tip over ALL dip beam bulbs, to stop your eye seeing the actual bulb filament when the bulb is lit. You should only be able to see reflected light.
In full beam the filaments are visible. And then will cause dazzle.

I don't have fog or driving lights on my STi7, and had my previous Imprezas wired as shown.
Cheers

At last some justice, I want J.C to mention on the next series of top gear that its just not cool as this problem seems to be getting worse by the day, it needs heavy coverage then word of mouth will take over, it is in effect anti social behaviour
