Superb, that bloke had it sussed, he created all of what he needed at a basic level and was realistic, he didnt retreat into some hippy idealistic vision and shun all technology, like he said just took the sustainable modern devlopments and used them to his advantage. Why dont we make more use of Solar and wind power.
I think more people will need to think like this in the future as fossil fuels run out, suppose its like biscuits, you eat all the chocolate ones first and when they are gone the plain ones seem suddenly more appealing.

Still my all time favorite episode of any of the GD series.
I would love to have a life like that, hardly a care in the world. Hard work yes, but imagine how relaxed you would be.
Cheers
Ian

Total respect to the guy, and his mates, a different way of life to most, he show's how we all should be, he cherishes the little things, like hot water!!
He has practically no bills, and therefore need to earn very little, and he has a stunning house!
Ron.

Big respect, it turned out much nicer than I was expecting! I'd have the interior a bit neater, was a bit rough and ready for me, but the outside looked great, really fitted in well.
2nd favorite of the ones they've featured though. Favorite was the cross shaped house (wasnt he a member on here?)

That cross shaped one was my favourite until this one came on, it was first shown this time last year I think.
The 0.5kW was just from the solar cells, he didn't ask what the windmills were generating.
Gave me an idea though, Mrs D is looking for an old VeeDub camper at the minute, I reckon with all the redundant but serviceable Golf alternators I've got lying about I could set up my own wind farm whenever we go off camping. It's got to beat running the engine to keep the fridge, stereo & DVD setup from killing the battery I bet I could even rig it to run some heated chairs in the back

Massive respect to the guy - a very laid back two fingers to all those cheque book builds so far in the series. Not only did this guy build it mostly himself, but he actually went out and got chopped down his own trees.
As has been said, the interior was a little basic for my liking, but you can't deny the guy know's exactly where it's at.
Oh, and the Kevin McLeod Formula:
9pm: Introduce show.
9:30pm: Sound sceptical.
10pm: Be won around by design. Sound humbled to camera.
Simon.
